About Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority
CAA is short of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority which is a government department that looks after all the details of the aviation industry of Pakistan. It was formed on December 7, 1982 according to the Civil Aviation Authority ordinance of 1982. Before the establishment of CAA, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) run a department (CAD) which manage all the activities related to Aviation Authority and they even continue to control the division after the formation of CAA until June 2013, when Pakistan government give it to the Secretariat. The purpose of its establishment is to work in a disciplined manner and to create an infrastructure which will provide efficient, safe economical and adequate services related to Civil Air Transport.
